Vintage I Love NY ringer tee, with the famous New York logo printed on the front in black and red. An off-white body with contrasting black collar and sleeve trims, a combination typical of American sports and promo tees of the Eighties.
Made on a vintage Jerzees blank with a grid tag and Made in USA. The tag design, the tubular body with no side seams, the light jersey and the straight, boxy cut are consistent with production between the mid and late Eighties, roughly between 1985 and 1989.
The black and red of the print are still well defined, and the registered trademark symbol is clearly visible under the logo. The I Love NY design is one of the most recognizable symbols of American visual culture and is especially sought after on the vintage travel and New York memorabilia market.
The ringer construction, with contrasting collar and cuffs, gives the tee a sporty, collegiate and authentically Eighties look. The fabric feels light and soft, with the typical hand of vintage American cotton-poly blanks.
