Vintage ’90s Boston College crewneck sweatshirt, representing the Jesuit university in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, founded in 1863. The chest features the large "Boston College" lettering in an arch, in yellow with a white outline. Below is the university's official seal: the shield with two crowns, the IHS monogram, and the open book with the Greek motto "αἰὲν ἀριστεύειν" (Ever to Excel). Around it are the inscriptions "Collegium Bostoniense", "Religioni et Bonis Artibus" and "Fund. 1863". The multicolored screen print has natural cracking due to age.
Made on a burgundy Galt Sand blank, in the college's maroon and gold colors, and produced in the United States. It has set-in sleeves, a ribbed high collar, and ribbed cuffs and hem. The Galt Sand Made in USA tag is the original one from the period. The color is slightly faded and there are small marks on the front hem, visible in the photos.
An American collegiate classic with the university seal graphic, for those looking for ’90s college sweatshirts that are less common than the usual Ivy League ones.
