Vintage M58 combat parka from the Koninklijke Landmacht, the Royal Netherlands Army, dating back to 1967. The original neck label bears the military abbreviation “K.L.”, the typical Dutch sizing, and a contract/date code ending in “67”. The construction and proportions match the original Dutch army M58 parkas.
Made as a military field garment for cold weather, it features an olive green cotton shell, concealed button front closure, epaulets, large diagonal chest pockets, lower flap pockets, adjustable cuffs, a cinched waist, and an elastic/drawstring hem. Inside, there is a removable wool lining attached with buttons, a particularly interesting element consistent with the early "woolly" linings intended for the M58 parka. An excellent European Cold War piece, still very strong today as a military, workwear, and heritage jacket.
